Now let me take you to the dinner table. Here is the menu:
Starters
pani puri
Chunky beef salad
Chips and salsa
Hot wings
Fried eggplant and
Green chili Egyptian pickle
Fresh fruit platter.
( recipe of salad, wings and Egyptian pickle is on my blog)

I chose all these starters as i could make eggplant, marinate the beef for salad and wings a day in advance so it was easy to manage the load.

Main course
Biryani
Chicken tikka
Shawarma platter with fatoush, tabouli and tzatziki
Mac and cheese
Baked fish
For main course, my choice was of course biryani and since im not a biryani expert, my ever loving neighbor my chachi offered to make it for me as she is a pro MA. As usual her biryani was super hit.

Next was mac and cheese with my own twist ( recipe soon on my blog).

Chicken tikkas are always a crowd pleaser and i find it easy to bake marinated stuff in oven.

To break the desi menue; i took refuge in my Arabic roots ( yes, we called ourselves Egyptians and take pride in making Arabic food) so I decided to serve shawarma platter that had fatoush , tabouli and tzatziki ( greek addition) too. I served hummus on a side.

And to bring variety to our menu tortilla crusted fish was added as well. Most of this stuff was baked in oven making my life easier.

I didn’t make dessert as we had enough stuff on cake table. We concluded the dinner with my popular peshawari qehwa. Im calling it popular because my moroccan friend took it twice and if a moroccan says it’s good, it probably is :)
