How to throw a budget friendly party 🎉

Updated: May 13, 2020

Being a home maker and a mom, the most important task is to make my home a happy place. A nest where my children want to come back happily even when they start their own journey. And I could only do that by making them appreciate the little things. Often in life we take these little moments for granted without even realizing that these are not little. A collection of happy moments is the treasure we would look behind one day and smile. All we have is now and how we can mould an ordinary day into a memorable one. In short, I always try to drag myself and my family in the present moment.

In our household, we love to celebrate each other, our special days and moments. We don’t need the world to tell us who we are; we are enough to remind each other how blessed we are. That’s a hard job for this mom but I try my best to work hard to create this legacy. Celebration brings so much happiness around and it doesn’t have to be grand. Here comes the magic of ordinary moments, often taken for granted. So we believe in arranging our special days with just few friends and family but then we try hard to make it beautiful.

Here are few tips to throw a budget party at your home : ~ Plan ahead. If you ask me one tip, this is it. Plan atleast a month ahead ( for me it’s 3 months lols) ~ Have a family meeting. Discuss the theme. Involve your teens. There is plenty of inspiration on Pinterest. Ask them to make the board. For little ones, ask them to help decide the menu. ~ Check dollar store, thrift store, garage sales first and then go to Hobby lobby, Party city and similar stores in your areas. If you are mot in US, I’m sure you would find budget stores around too. I remember going to Ataba in Cairo and Darham stores in UAE often carry such stuff. ~ Fix a budget so you don’t over do it. ~ Plan decor around cake table. Make it a dessert table with cup cakes and other goodies. Keep main course separate. You can use disposable platter for the main course but please keep everything fancy on cake table. ~ Your cake table should have a colored theme and try to find most of the goodies of the same color. Juices as well. ~ Cook ahead and have enough spare time to set the back drop and table. You can do it as a family. Involve hubby and big children to set up the back drop. Again, check my blog for easy budget friendly ideas.
