My eldest is going to university dorm soon and mommy is going through an emotional roller coaster ride. Is that it? Isn’t it too soon? Wasn’t it just yesterday that she came in my arms, smiled for the first time; that first step and the giggle that followed it. Trust me it was just yesterday. They grow up so fast, aren’t they.! This also brings other thoughts to my mind too. What is she going to miss about home? What will remind her home? What kind of household do we have? Like all other moms, I also try hard to build some family traditions and norms. As stephen covey has said about family life , “ to live, to love and to leave a legacy”. When it comes to family tradition, we are particular about celebration. And Im sure, this is one thing my girls would remember about their home. When it comes to religious celebrations Ramadan is at the top. Ramadan always leaves me in awe with its grandeur, with its spirituality, with the light and the sujood. There are so many ways to decorate and to have activities and crafts for children. It is the best way to involve them and bring some enthusiasm in your house hold. My girls have past the age when they used to enjoy making ramadan calendars and other activities but Iam going to share some of the past decor and craft.

Ramadan table mats. They did their design and later it was plastic quoted by the stationary shop. They loved it and used it for a long time.

This Ramadan calneder was really adorable. They filled it with 30 hadith. later, when my daughter made it for her little cousin she filled it with play dough.
And this year she is thinking of shopkins too :)

Good deed jar is another great way to teach the kids about Ramadan's spirit.

These cute mosque and book marks were really a hit at our ramadan party.

Ikea frames with handmade Eid and ramadan greetings. What an easy and super idea!

Ramadan arts and crafts party at our Abu Dhabi home.

We filled these cute lantern from home centre( Abu Dhabi) with candies as a give away.
Now , some decor :) My biggest weakness is that I’m not crafty and my biggest strength is my power to make my family members work on my whims:)) Well, to be honest this is the hardest part of the story. I have to constantly nag and blackmail my kids to help me with craft.
For this decor, my daughter and nephew made me this beautiful canvas.

Thanks to my calligeraphy collection from Khan al khalili Cairo; I dont really have to work hard to bring ramadan feel.

My little one making calendar for her cousin.

Loved doing this door decor from party city last year.

This year party city came up with blue and purpple theme that I really liked. Unfortunately, they didn't have ramadan decor available in Orange county and I couldn't get any stuff from there but I did use blue as the main color. This year's decor revolves around my Egyptian and moroccan collection. I took out my Tajin, my rice dish and even tea cups :)

This purpple paper lantern is from dolar tree and it went well with my tajan and bedoin candle stand.

this lamp is my precious collection from one and only bazar of khan el khalili.

oh the pleasure of seeing bedoin design curtain. I turned it into throw and it did help me come up with my theme.

This canvas is done by my little one and my very talented nephew. he used chalk marker and my duas to make this amazing calligraphy :)

Another calligraphy pot from Cairo and Pakistani beauty, my beloved swing that has been traveling with us for more than a decade.
This was all about ramadan from our house hold. Let us know what is your family tradition. Don’t forget to tag us on facebook and instagram.
