Nine Quarantine Tips

These are strange times. Amongst the pandemic and injustice going on, we have been trapped in a bubble of negativity. Being overwhelmed and generally pessimistic is normal in our current scenario. However, let’s remind each other that this too shall pass. Also, take this time to reflect, to think and to evaluate our lifestyle , our thoughts and our perspectives.

Sharing some of the tips that might help you cope with this stress:

1: Stay connected with family and friends. Call or message those whom you haven’t talked in ages. This is the right time to have some virtual re union. Nothing can brighten these dull stressful moments than having a laugh with those old buddies.

2. Meditate, meditate and meditate . A single cure to all your worries. Google and Youtube has all the help you need to start your journey of mindfulness.

3. Just observe things mindfully without being judgmental. Stress is taking its toll on everyone. People are losing their temperament quickly. Show compassion and be forgiving.

4: Follow a strict routine at home. Sleep and wakeup at the same time. Heard about circadian rhythm? It is your internal biological clock. You should follow natural rhythm in sleeping and also in meal timings. If you have not been following a routine, this is the right time to adopt a healthy routine.

5: Physical activity is vital in this crisis. Improve your immunity by adopting a healthy lifestyle. Go for a brisk walk, yoga, cardio workout at home, dance or whatever you deem suitable. Do it daily for atleast 30-45 minutes.

6: Are you the one who always used to complain that you can’t have a hobby due to your busy work schedule? This is the time to find a new hobby or brush up on old one. You can try painting, dancing, reading, crafting or baking, anything your heart desires. Having an activity to engage yourself in can help get your mind off things while also helping you learn new skills.

7: Be kind to yourself: Do maintain a journal to express what you are going through. Sometimes, it really helps to just get your thoughts out on paper and its so important to just have a moment to take everything in. Moreover, try to eliminate negativity and toxic people from your life.

8:Eat home made food: This is your time to try all the healthy and home made recipes you’ve been wanting to try. Ditch take aways and frozen dinners and make your food from scratch and notice how good you feel. (plenty of recipes on my blog)

9: And above all use this pandemic as an opportunity to express your gratitude, truly be thankful for all you have. Don’t wait for thanksgiving, thank your loved ones now and let them know how grateful you are for all they do for you.
