Shashlik is my first ever recipe that I proudly own. It happened a decade ago in my Islamabad's kitchen when I was craving a particular fusion flavour and started playing with Chinese and desi spices and flavours and the result was marvellous. I did improve it over the time in Cairo and Abu Dhabi. It’s a family favourite and probably the most popular dish at parties and pot lucks.
INgredients:
Chicken boneless legs (shish tawouk) Bell peppers Onion Oyster sauce 2-3 tbl spoon Chiken tikka masla : as desired Ketchup : half cup Sweet chili sauce: 1-2 tbl spoon Brown sugar : 3 tbl spoon Vinegar : 1 tbl spn
Method:
Marinate chicken with shaan chkn tikka masala ( nothing else)for at least two hours.
Cook chicken, add oyster sauce, brown sugar, chili sauce, vinegar.
Add vegetables, keep stirring.
Use charcoal to smoke it.
Lastly, add ketchup and check the taste; dish it out.
